I find this photo really interesting, I feel like it's slightly controversial. The cross is quite a strong symbol, and i think that you really need to think about why you would use a symbol with such strong connotations.
I remember the other photographs you've showed in class during your presentation, I feel like experimentation is key in your work. I loved them, i thought there was something very raw and beautiful about them.
Arezoo Karoubi was born in 1983 in Tehran, Iran. She was brought up in an artistic family, her mother a painter and her father an architect. In 2002 she entered the university of art and architecture in Tehran to study stage design and theatre; at the same time she was a student of one of the greatest surrealist painting masters Thaha Bahbahani. In 2004, she moved to Dubai to continue her studies in the American university in Dubai. Having studied stage design alongside a surrealistic vision, she started photography and she is currently in her last year of a BFA photography program. She focuses mainly on photography as an art form. Most of her work is taken with a manual camera. Arezoo’s work centers on her experience of life as a young female. Her work has been exhibited in several group shows in Dubai.
